Private transfer to hotel by private tour coach/vehicle with a city sightseeing tour enroute.

Today take a tour to colonial harbour town of Akaroa.

Includes: late morning 2 hr Akaroa Nature Cruise

After the cruise, time at leisure to explore Akaroa and have some lunch at own arrangements.

Return to Christchurch in the afternoon and the rest of the afternoon is at leisure.

We recommend: visit to the Canterbury Museum; Christchurch tramway tour; Punting on Avon River, Tramway dinner

This morning you will be met by your driver for your journey Tekapo.

Includes: visit to the Church of the Good Shepherd in Tekapo

Includes: self-guided Mt John summit track (approx. 3 hr – good level of fitness required). The track rises steadily up through exotic forest and then open tussock hill slopes. Mt John is fantastic viewing platform with a 360-degree panorama of the surrounding mountains, lakes and Mackenzie Basin flats. The Mt John Observatory and cafe are at the top. Another popular option is to drive to the top of Mt John, park near the cafe and walk the Summit Circuit Track (30–45 min).

We recommend you take a packed lunch (at own cost) to the summit and enjoy a picnic.

On completion of your walk enjoy a soak in the Tekapo hot springs.

Includes: admission to Lake Tekapo Springs Hot Pools.

On completion make your way to the hotel for check in. The rest of the evening is at leisure

We recommend: Dark Sky Experience (indoor experience) or Dark Sky Summit Experience for Star Gazing (night time experience – outside – weather dependent), scenic helicopter flights

After breakfast travel to Mt Cook.

Includes: Half day SELF GUIDED Hooker Valley nature walk. 

On return of your walk time at leisure for a quick lunch (at own cost) before you depart for Queenstown.

On arrival brief orientation tour if time permits, including Arrowtown. Then you will be transferred to the hotel for check in.

The rest of the evening is at your own leisure.

Today is at your leisure for exploring the area or optional attractions. Please note that the coach is not at your disposal today!

Optional Attraction: Half Day guided Canyoning adventure (4hrs)

Optional Attraction: Milford Sound half day tour, fly in – cruise on the sound – fly out (8.30am pick up, 2.00pm drop off)

We recommend Cruise on the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw across lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak Station and gourmet BBQ dinner at the Walter Peak Homestead, followed by a dog trial demo. On completion return to the Queenstown. (6pm-10.00pm)

This morning make your way to the wild west coast. A stop is made in Wanaka to see the famous ‘tree in the lake’ and there will be stops along the way for nature walks.

Includes: Blue Pools Nature walk – 1 – 1.5hr return. An easy short walk through Silver beech forest, to a swing bridge overlooking the crystal-clear Blue Pools at the mouth of the Blue River.

Includes: Thunder Creek Falls Bush walk – 5 min return. An easy walk along a sealed track that passes through kāmahi and silver beech to the 28-metre, spectacular and aptly named, Thunder Creek Falls.

Includes: Roaring Billy Bush Walk – 25 min return. This gentle walk through a beautiful podocarp forest to the Haast River ends with a great view of the Roaring Billy Waterfall. The forest is lush with tree ferns, a special feature of the walk.

Continue up the west coast where you will stop at Lake Matheson.

Includes: Lake Matheson walk – 30 min (short walk) 1 ½ hr (long walk). Lake Matheson is nestled in ancient forest and is famous for mirror views of Aoraki/Mount Cook and Mount

Tasman. Its excellent reflecting properties are due to the dark brown colour of the water - the result of organic matter leached from the humus of the forest floor. Dawn and dusk are the best times to enjoy the reflections in the lake.

On arrival in Franz Josef, check into your hotel.

This morning enjoy a self guided walk to Callery Gorge. This is an easy 1h 20min walk around 5.2km long returning via the same track.

In the afternoon your coach will take you to the Te Ara a Waiau Walkway for your Glacier Valley Walk. This is an easy 30 min walk of around 1.7km returning via the same track

Includes: self guided Callery Gorge walk and Glacier Valley walk.

Rest of the day is at leisure to explore the area or participate in some optional flight-seeing or soak in the hot pools (currently in hibernation).

This morning depart Franz Josef and coach to Greymouth via Hokitika.

Includes: Hokitika George track – 1 hr. Follow the walking track through dense podocarp/hardwood forest before emerging onto a viewing platform. From here you can look down to the stunning Hokitika Gorge and out to the lush farmland of Kowhitirangi.

On arrival in Greymouth time at leisure for a walk around and optional lunch (own cost).

You will then board your train for your journey to Christchurch.

Includes: Tranz Alpine Train journey from Greymouth – Christchurch.

On arrival in Christchurch meet your driver and transfer to the hotel for check in.

In the evening take a leisurely walk to a local restaurant for your farewell dinner.

Includes: 3 course farewell dinner at Curator’s House or similar.

On completion walk back to the hotel or you might with to take a nightcap in the ‘Terrace’ area.
